Feb.29th, 2008 - This is a special day the 29th day of February. Here are some interesting time capsules from wikipedia; they might be urban legends but what the heck! 1504 - Christopher Columbus uses his knowledge of a lunar eclipse that night to convince Native Americans to provide him with supplies. 1712 - February 29 is followed by February 30 in Sweden, in a move to abolish the Swedish calendar for a return to the Old style. # 1972 - Hank Aaron becomes the first player in the history of Major League Baseball to sign a $200,000 contract. 1812 Ottawa Ontario - John Burrows Honey settles 200 acres in what is now downtown Ottawa

on February 29, 2008Nice one! Reminds me to put the kettle on for another mug of Earl Grey! Driving home tonight I heard a fascinating discussion on the reason for the leap day, how different calendars manage, and why it is at the end of February. Try explaining it to a Martian!

on February 29, 2008Nice shot. Nice cup. I usually prefer a thick beer stein (thick glass, 12oz) - seems to keep the coffee hotter a bit longer and less trips to the kitchen for a dose of caffeine. Speaking of which... I'm off to the kitchen.. :)

on February 29, 2008I love these detailed shots of yours. The lighting and clarity is always so lovely, and the small stories they tell capture me. It's something I keep struggling to learn, so I love your frequent reminders of how simple stories can provide impact.
